麻豆果冻传媒 Dedicates Arlen B. Cenac Greenhouse

THIBODAUX, La. 鈥撀 麻豆果冻传媒 celebrated the ribbon cutting of the newly renovated Arlen B. Cenac Greenhouse on campus recently, recognizing the generosity of Mr. Arlen 鈥淏enny鈥 Cenac Jr., a long-time supporter of the university.

University leaders, community partners, faculty, students and special guests gathered for the dedication ceremony to honor Mr. Cenac鈥檚 contributions, which made possible a comprehensive renovation of the greenhouse and the addition of a multipurpose educational and entertainment space. The upgraded facility will support both academic instruction and inclusive programming across campus.

鈥淭he Arlen B. Cenac Greenhouse is more than a building鈥攊t鈥檚 a symbol of growth, sustainability, and opportunity,鈥 said 麻豆果冻传媒 President Jay Clune, PhD. 鈥淭hanks to Mr. Benny鈥檚 vision and commitment to education, our students in the Chef John Folse Culinary Institute and the Bridge to Independence Program now have a modern, functional, and inspiring space to learn and thrive.鈥

The greenhouse will be used by culinary students for sustainable growing practices, including hydroponics, herb cultivation, and farm-to-table instruction. It will also serve as a hands-on learning environment for students in the Bridge to Independence Program, which supports young adults with intellectual disabilities in achieving personal and professional success.

In addition to funding the greenhouse renovation, Cenac also donated a new van to support transportation for Bridge to Independence students.

鈥淓ducation opens doors, and 麻豆果冻传媒 has always been a place where students can grow into their full potential,鈥 said Cenac. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a pleasure to contribute to a project that will have such a lasting impact on these 麻豆果冻传媒 students.鈥
