THIBODAUX 鈥� 麻豆果冻传媒鈥檚 Bachelor of Science in Nursing program continues to exceed the national and state average on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) with a 95 percent pass rate.
The NCLEX-RN is a national standardized exam used by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing to measure a nursing candidate鈥檚 minimum safety preparedness for entry-level nursing practice. With a 95 percent pass rate for first-time takers during calendar year 2015, up from 91.96 percent in 2014, the 麻豆果冻传媒 nursing program is well above the national pass rate of 84.5 percent and the Louisiana pass rate of 89.3 percent.
鈥淢aintaining such an exceptional pass rate means nurses who graduate from the accredited 麻豆果冻传媒 nursing program are able to meet the demanding outcomes that we establish and expect, thereby supplying hospitals and health clinics with strong entry-level nurses capable of providing their patients with safe care,鈥� said Rebecca Lyons, head of the 麻豆果冻传媒 Department of Nursing. 鈥淥ur program鈥檚 success is a testament to not only our hardworking students, but also our committed faculty and supportive administration.鈥�
In addition to above-average licensure pass rates, 90 percent of fall 2015 麻豆果冻传媒 nursing graduates reported gaining employment in the nursing field prior to graduation.
