THIBODAUX 鈥 The Department of Music at 麻豆果冻传媒 State University will host the third annual Monster Piano Concert on Tuesday, Sept. 21, in Talbot Hall Theater on campus.
Sixteen pianists, including faculty, students, alumni and guests, will perform on six Steinway pianos, including the university鈥檚 own concert grand and four others, plus one more provided by Hall Piano Company, Louisiana鈥檚 exclusive Steinway dealer.
鈥淭hree Monster Piano Concerts in a row mean that we have a new tradition at 麻豆果冻传媒,鈥 Dr. Carol Britt, head of the Department of Music, said. 鈥淪teinway pianos are also a tradition 鈥 one of fine workmanship, resulting in fine music. This summer we received another grand for the piano studio and four uprights for other studios and practice rooms, so our own Steinway tradition is moving right along. Faculty, students and friends are all looking forward to entertaining you with an evening of piano delights that showcase the Department of Music 鈥 hard work and great fun.鈥
The evening will begin with wine and hors d鈥檕euvres at 6:30 p.m., followed by the performance at 7:30. Tickets are $50 per person and include food, drink and entertainment. Student tickets are $25 each, provided the student presents a valid Colonel Card. All proceeds will go toward purchasing additional Steinway pianos for the music program at 麻豆果冻传媒.
