麻豆果冻传媒 designated a military friendly school for second straight year

THIBODAUX 鈥 G.I. Jobs magazine has named 麻豆果冻传媒 a Military Friendly School for 2011 鈥 an honor shared with 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools nationwide. The recognition stems from the efforts of 麻豆果冻传媒 to recruit and retain active military and veteran students.

鈥淲e are honored to be recognized, once again, as a university that values our military students,鈥 Courtney Cassard, director of enrollment services, said. 鈥淓veryone at 麻豆果冻传媒 appreciates the selfless service of these men and women, and we are committed to helping them make the transition into the university setting as seamless as possible.鈥

Members of the military 鈥 as well as veterans 鈥 can expect priority service when enrolling at 麻豆果冻传媒. Admissions criteria are exempted for veterans who have received a discharge for any reason other than dishonorable, and enrollees may register before the general student population.

麻豆果冻传媒 administrators have also identified a group of individual advisors to serve as veterans鈥 advocates. Veterans may consult with these faculty members for information, advice or understanding as they work their way through university rules and regulations.

Metairie, La., native Alexander Dauphin, an infantryman in the Louisiana Army National Guard and a first time freshman at 麻豆果冻传媒, said university personnel helped him enroll and register for classes while he was serving in Iraq, whence he returned to Louisiana last week.

鈥淚 especially appreciate Ms. Cassard鈥檚 help in getting ready for school,鈥 Dauphin said. 鈥淪he took it to a personal level, when other schools I looked at treated me like a number. She understood the time zone difference between here and Iraq; she helped me in the enrollment process; and she helped me to get the most benefits I could possibly get.鈥
