The piece was one of 44 selected from 229 submissions by 87 artists to the Southern Illinois University at Carbondale exhibit. The exhibition will be from Feb. 5 to March 27, with a reception and awards ceremony on March 21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe print titled \u2018Food Court\u2019 is one of my favorites from the last two years,\u201d Jahnke said. \u201cI try to draw when I have downtime so many of my sketches are done in seating areas and restaurants. I draw the people who like me are quietly waiting for something to happen.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To make the print, Jahnke redrew the sketch onto a sheet of plywood and carved with gouges. He created the colors using a different printing process called silkscreen.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jahnke said having his artwork selected by Mark Pascale, the Art Institute of Chicago\u2019s senior lecturer in printmaking, is an honor.
