{"id":5165,"date":"2013-12-03T14:44:54","date_gmt":"2013-12-03T20:44:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/?p=5165"},"modified":"2013-12-03T14:44:54","modified_gmt":"2013-12-03T20:44:54","slug":"nicholls-commencement-scheduled-for-dec-14","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nicholls.edu\/news\/2013\/12\/03\/nicholls-commencement-scheduled-for-dec-14\/","title":{"rendered":"麻豆果冻传媒 Commencement Scheduled for Dec. 14"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THIBODAUX \u2014 More than 680 new graduates will cross the stage during 麻豆果冻传媒\u2019s fall commencement Saturday, Dec. 14, in Stopher Gymnasium.<\/p>\n<p>Ceremonies will begin at 10 a.m. for College of Arts and Sciences, College of Nursing and Allied Health, and College of Business Administration graduates and at 2 p.m. for University College and College of Education graduates.<\/p>\n<p>The keynote address will be delivered by 1968 麻豆果冻传媒 alumnus Dan Born\u00e9, president of the Louisiana Chemical Association and the Louisiana Chemical Industry Alliance, which represent the interests of hundreds of chemical manufacturing facilities and supporting businesses in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Previously Born\u00e9 served as executive secretary and chief executive assistant to Governor Edwin Edwards and was a Washington assistant to U.S. Sens. Russell Long and Allen Ellender. He also worked in the U.S. House of Representatives and the Louisiana State Senate. Born\u00e9 has anchored news, sports and public affairs programming for WAFB-TV, Baton Rouge.<\/p>\n<p>Before joining the Louisiana Chemical Association, Born\u00e9 was vice president of Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation, coordinating the company\u2019s governmental affairs and public relations activities throughout the south.<\/p>\n<p>A member of the 麻豆果冻传媒 Hall of Fame, he later received the James Lynn Powell award for distinguished service to 麻豆果冻传媒 and its alumni federation. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THIBODAUX \u2014 More than 680 new graduates will cross the stage during 麻豆果冻传媒\u2019s fall commencement Saturday, Dec. 14, in Stopher Gymnasium.
